Lucknow: Gunner of former MLA of Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow has committed suicide by shooting himself with a licensed rifle. After getting the information, the police reached the spot, broke the door of the hotel, took out the corpse and started further proceedings by sending it for postmortem explaining that the deceased gunner was also a retired soldier.

According to the information received, retired army officer Rajesh Kumar stayed in a hotel in Vipulkhand-4, Lucknow. Rajesh Kumar was a resident of Jhansi. Presently, he was also the gunner of former SP MLA Deep Narayan Yadav. He stayed in the hotel, during which the police were called after hearing the sound of the bullet. The police reached the spot broke the hotel door and entered the room. Here the deceased Rajesh committed suicide by shooting himself with his license rifle. Police have delivered the dead body for postmortem and further action is being taken.

ADCP Syed Qasim Abidi of East Lucknow said that the victim committed suicide by shooting in the room. He further said that it is clear that this is suicide. At present, the matter is being investigated and other aspects are also being looked into.
