Lucknow: The issue of removing loudspeakers from mosques that started from Maharashtra has now spread to several states, including Uttar Pradesh. Recently, Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and some other Hindu organisations have announced to recite Hanuman Chalisa in front of the mosque. Samajwadi Party (SP) woman leader Rubina Khanam has given an open threat to Hindus. She has said that if there is an attempt to target the Muslim religion and remove loudspeakers installed on mosques, hundreds of Muslim women will sit in front of temples and read the Quran.

According to reports, Hindutva outfits in Aligarh had announced to read Hanuman Chalisa by installing loudspeakers at 21 intersections, following which SP Mahanagar president Rubina Khanam has given her reaction. Khanam said that the controversy over loudspeakers is being stirred up by the BJYM and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and a conspiracy is being hatched to create chaos in the month of Ramzan. She has urged the administration to put a check on such elements. She said that if anyone hurt another religion and the faith of people, hundreds of Muslim women would read the Quran on loudspeakers in front of temples. Earlier Rubina Khanum came into the limelight after making a controversial statement in the Karnataka hijab case. She threatened in a statement that whoever puts her hand on the hijab, her hands will be cut off.

A video of Rubina had also gone viral on social media, in which she was seen saying, "I am Rubina Khanum, a senior SP leader from Aligarh. The issue of the Karnataka hijab is an attack on the sisters and daughters of our country. We will cut off the hands of those who put our hands on our hijab. India is a country of diversity. Be it the tilak of the forehead, the turban, the hijab... all these are part of the culture of India. To sit on this is the culmination of meaning.''
