Lucknow: Former Rajya Sabha MPs Surendra Nagar and Sanjay Seth of Samajwadi party (SP) have joined the BJP. According to information, both BJP General Secretary and senior leader Bhupendra Yadav were given party membership at the BJP office in Delhi on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Surendra Nagar said, "I am joining the BJP with inspiration from the way Section 370 was removed from Kashmir.
He said, "I have confidence in the leadership of the BJP. Sanjay Seth, on the other hand, said, "I am grateful to PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for having included me in his family. I support PM Modi's policies. It may be mentioned that Surendra Nagar was the spona's national general secretary and has been the party's big gurjar face. Sanjay Seth was the treasurer of the SP and played an important role in the SP-BSP alliance.
The resignation of Surendra Singh Nagar of Samajwadi Party, Sanjay Seth was announced in the Upper House on Monday (05 August). When the Rajya Sabha met for the day, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu briefed him on the issue. He had said that the two SP leaders had resigned on August 2, which has been approved.
