US: In the third quarter of this year, Samsung Electronics closed the gap with Apple in the US smartphone market. On the 5th, market research firm Counterpoint Research reported that Samsung Electronics had a 35 percent market share, up 5 percent year-over-year. Since the first quarter of last year, this is the highest quarterly share (32 percent ). In the third quarter, Apple's market share was 42 percent, up 3 percent year over year. However, the market share gap between Samsung Electronics and the second-placed company has narrowed from 9 percent to 7 percent.

Samsung Electronics' third-quarter market share is better than expected, given Apple's September launch of the iPhone 13 series. Strong sales of Samsung Electronics' foldable phones, the Galaxy Z-Fold 3 and Z-Flip 3, which were released in August, were found to have a positive impact on market share expansion.

Despite recent supply disruptions, Apple's iPhone 13 accounted for 17 percent of total U.S. sales in the third quarter, according to Counterpoint Research analyst Jeff Fieldhack. " With the Galaxy A32 5G models, Samsung Electronics has successfully launched its foldable phone series and increased sales of low-cost 5G phones.
