Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna have crashed out of the first round of the Adelaide International two tennis tournament with their respective partners. Sania and her Ukrainian partner Nadiia Kichenok, who reached the semi-finals of the Adelaide One tournament, were defeated 3-6, 3-6 in 61 minutes by Czech Tereza Martincova and Marketa. Bopanna and his French partner Edouard Roger Vaseline lost 4-6, 6-3, 3-10 to Steve Johnson and Astin Krajicek of the United States in a 1-hour 9-minute bout. Bopanna also won the Adelaide One doubles trophy last week along with compatriot Ramkumar Ramanathan. Bopanna and Sania are now set to challenge at the Australian Open.

Earlier there were reports that- India's star tennis player Sania Mirza has started the year in a grand style. She has won the first round of the Adelaide International tournament with a bang. Sania teamed up with Ukraine's Nadiia Kichenok to beat second-seeded Gabriela Dubrovski and Giuliana Olmos in the women's doubles pre-quarterfinals. On the other hand, in the men's pairing of Ramkumar Ramanathan and Rohan Bopanna, they also started with a win.

Sania and Nadia lost 1-6 in the first set of the match. After which both of them made a great comeback. Sania-Nadiia clinched the second set 6-3. In the third set, Olmos of Mexico and Dabrowski of Canada fought hard. However, Sania and Nadiia managed to clinch the third set 10-8 after a tough fight.
