New Delhi: After the announcement by PM Narendra Modi, from now onwards, sanitary pads will be available at all Jan Aushadhi Kendras in the country for just Rs. 1. During his speech on 15 August, PM Modi announced that now women in India will be provided sanitary napkins for 1 rupee.
After PM Modi's announcement, now in view of women's health, the central government has made the price of sanitary napkins in all its Jan Aushadhi centres Rs. 1. Starting today, sanitary napkins will be available at all public health centres for just Rs. 1. Till now, these biodegradable napkins were sold in public medical centres in the name of 'Suvidha' for Rs 2.50, now its price has been reduced to Rs 1. Till now, a big packet of 4 napkins which was sold for 10 rupees, now it will be provided to women for just 4 rupees.
In his speech of August 15, PM Narendra Modi had announced to provide sanitary napkins for 1 rupee. Before this, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had also promised it in its 2019 manifesto, which the government is now fulfilling.
