The movie Mohenjo Daro which was helmed by Ashutosh Gowariker and was flopped at the box-office. Now, according to the reports he is back with another movie titled 'Panipat'. The movie which is based on the third battle of Panipat.
The movie stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in the lead and the magnum opus will be going on floors in mid-2018.
The first look poster of Panipat is out and it sees a royal hand holding a sword ready for action.
Talking about working with Sanjay, Ashutosh told a leading tabloid, "I shared screen space with Sanjay in Naam (1986), which was a memorable co-acting experience. It will be great to direct such a versatile and talented actor."
About Arjun, Ashutosh continued, "What impresses me most about Arjun, apart from his fine performances, is his dynamism. He had played double roles twice (Aurangzeb, 2013 and Mubarakan 2017), and has portrayed an action hero as well as a lover boy."
Produced by Ashutosh Gowariker Productions and Vision World Films, Panipat - The Great Betrayal is slated to release on December 6, 2019.
Ashutosh Gowariker is an Indian film director, actor, writer and producer. He is known for directing films "set on a huge canvas while boasting of an opulent treatment". His works include Lagaan (2001), Swades (2004), Jodhaa Akbar (2008), What's Your Raashee? (2009), Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey (2010) and Mohenjo Daro (2016). His film Lagaan was nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film category in 74th Academy Awards, which makes him a voting member of the Academy Awards. He returned to acting by playing the lead role in the critically acclaimed dramedy Ventilator.
