Mumbai: Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi along with his sister and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra left for Hathras to meet the gang-rape victim's family on Thursday. However, the UP police intercepted his convoy on the Yamuna Expressway. After this, both the leaders started the march. Rahul Gandhi alleges that the police manhandled him and pushed him to the ground. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that "No one can support this incident".

Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut said, "Rahul Gandhi is a national leader. There may be differences with Congress, but no one can support the behavior of the police with Rahul Gandhi. He was pushed and they treated him badly. In a way, it is a gang-rape of the democracy". On the Yamuna Expressway, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had said, "The police just pushed me, lathi-charged me and dropped me on the ground. I want to ask only Modi ji can walk in this country? A normal person isn't allowed to walk? Our vehicle was stopped, so we started walking".

An FIR has been registered against Rahul Gandhi in Noida. Today, on the occasion of 151st birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Rahul targeted the central government through Twitter. He wrote in his tweet that, "I will not fear anyone in the world. I will not bow down to anyone's injustice, I will win the untruth with the truth and I can bear all the sufferings while opposing the untruth. Happy Gandhi Jayanti".
