Sankranthi 2021 :Special Trains run till the end of January

Special trains are very disappointing for the city's residents who are planning to go home to Sankranthi. The waiting list is heavily registered in all the major trains that travel from Hyderabad to different parts of Thelly. Reservations have been replaced in all until the end of January next year. City dwellers cannot go to their hometowns unless new special trains are run. The South Central Railway has cancelled about 80 regular express trains and more than 120 passenger trains from Secunderabad, Nampally and Kachiguda stations in view of the Kovid rules. In their place, only special trains are run in the phases according to the passenger traffic.

Trains have been restored to The Kovid Unlock with only two services between Secunderabad-New Delhi and Bangalore-New Delhi. By June, 22 pairs of trains were restored to Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Tirupati, Bangalore, Mumbai, Danapur and other places.  Usually, about 2.5 lakh passengers from Hyderabad travel from Secunderabad, Nampally and Kachiguda stations every day. More than 200 trains are run from these three stations per day.

The passenger crowd increased after Unlock 4.0, Unlock 5.0. While about 1.6 lakh passengers are waiting for a daily journey, only 76 trains are available. The waiting list is heavily recorded in all. Every year, south central railway runs hundreds of special trains. But this time, only 64 trains have been increased keeping in mind Christmas, Sankranthi and Sabari travel. The passengers are facing severe difficulties due to the reduction of trains due to the kovid restrictions.  The Godavari Express (02728) from Secunderabad to Visakhapatnam has a waiting list of 300, 340 and 399 respectively on January 10, 11 and 12.
The 'No Room' is also available for booking in the waiting list for these three days in the express (01019), Secunderabad-Falaknuma (02724) trains from Mumbai to Bhubaneswar via Secunderabad.

Secunderabad -Visakhapatnam (07016) Express was registered from January 10 to 12, respectively, 189, 208 and 235 respectively.  Secunderabad-Machilipatnam (02750) Express is on 10th, 11th on 84th, 92th on 92and 12th. Rayalaseema Express (02794) also has a waiting list of 97. Keeping in view the Kovid epidemic, the trains are being maintained. We are running as per the guidelines of the Railway Board. We hope there may be little demand for Sankranthi this year.
