Nagpur: To understand India well, it is necessary to have knowledge of Sanskrit. It is difficult to understand India without understanding Sanskrit. This was stated by the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat at a book release program here. He said, at least 30 percent of all the existing languages in the country, including tribal languages, is made up of Sanskrit.
Bhagwat said that even Dr. Ambedkar also regretted that he did not get the opportunity to learn Sanskrit as it was important to know about the traditions of the country. "There is no language in any part of our country that cannot be learned in three to four months. If we are listening to a language for the first time and the person speaks a little slowly, we at least understand its 'feeling' and the reason is Sanskrit.
"Every language in India, even in tribal areas, has at least thirty percent Sanskrit words," the RSS chief said. "Sanskrit is a language of knowledge and all the knowledge of (ancient) astronomy, agriculture and Ayurveda can be found only in Sanskrit," he said. "Even the resources of India's pre-modern history are only in Sanskrit. Bhagwat said that without knowing Sanskrit, it is difficult to fully understand India. Even Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar said this. The Sangh chief said that Sanskrit should be taught in such a way that everyone can learn it.
