CHENNAI: The Differently Abled Cricket Council of India (DCCI) will start the second season of the Sardar Patel National Divyang T20 Cup on October 31 in Lucknow. This is a cricket tournament for people with disabilities that is played at the national level.

The event's mascot, tagline, and hashtag were announced on Tuesday by S.L. Jain, MD & CEO of Indian Bank, in the presence of Imran Amin Siddiqui and Ashwani Kumar, both of whom are Executive Directors of the bank.

The event will take place at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow over the course of eight days to honour the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, which is also known as National Unity Day.

Twenty teams of Divyang Cricketers from all over the country, split into four groups, will play a total of 43 games to see who will win the top prize. The winners will be announced at the closing ceremony in Lucknow on November 7, 2022.

S.L. Jain talked about how he felt about the tournament by saying, "The Divyang Cricket makes us even more sure that having a disability is not a barrier to success. It also reminds us of our promise to encourage talent without bias and bring people with disabilities into the mainstream. We will see how determined, brave, and courageous these athletes are through Cricket, which is India's most popular sport." As India continues to celebrate its 75 years of independence, DCCI will continue to use these kinds of projects to promote equality and sports. DCCI is an umbrella organisation for Blind, Deaf, Physically Disabled, and Wheelchair Cricket, which are all played in India.

Dr. Deepa Malik, Paralympic Medallist and Committee Member, Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, who is the Brand Ambassador of the Sardar Patel National Divyang T20 Cup, also blessed the occasion along with Ravi Kant, General Secretary DCCI and Sqn Ldr (Retd) Abhai Pratap Singh, Joint Secretary, DCCI.
