Akshay Kumar's 'Sarfira' and Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2' clashed at the box office on July 12. Despite the pre-release buzz, 'Sarfira' failed to impress audiences from day one, while 'Indian 2' had a decent start but failed to maintain momentum. Both films are struggling to make a mark at the box office, with 'Sarfira' performing particularly poorly.

'Sarfira' was expected to do well, given the positive response to its trailer. However, it received a lukewarm response from audiences, with a slight increase in collections over the opening weekend. Despite this, the film's business took a hit on weekdays. After 12 days, 'Sarfira' has failed to cross the Rs 25 crore mark.

The film's collections stand at Rs 18.75 crore in its first week, with Rs 40 lakh on its second Friday, Rs 85 lakh on its second Saturday, Rs 1.2 crore on its second Sunday, and Rs 22 lakh on its second Monday. According to Sacnilk's early trend report, 'Sarfira' collected Rs 35 lakh on its 12th day, taking its total to Rs 21.80 crore.

On the other hand, Kamal Haasan's 'Indian 2' has also failed to recreate the magic of its 1996 predecessor. Despite a decent start, the film's negative reviews and poor word-of-mouth have affected its collections. 'Indian 2' collected Rs 70.4 crore in its first week, with Rs 1.3 crore on its second Friday, Rs 1.88 crore on its second Saturday, Rs 2.07 crore on its second Sunday, and Rs 1.3 crore on its second Monday. According to Sacnilk's early trend report, 'Indian 2' collected Rs 1.11 crore on its 12th day, taking its total to Rs 78.06 crore.

Both 'Sarfira' and 'Indian 2' are struggling to recover even half of their production costs. 'Sarfira' is nearing the end of its box office run, while 'Indian 2' is moving at a slow pace. The films faced competition from Prabhas's 'Kalki 2898 AD' initially, and now Vikky Kaushal's 'Bad News' has also impacted their collections. It seems unlikely that either film will recover half of their production costs, with 'Sarfira' likely to wrap up its box office run soon.
