Recruitment in Indian Coast Guard, Know selection process

In the Indian Coast Guard, there has been recruitment on the posts of Sailor (General Duty) and Sailor (Domestic Branch). Interested and eligible candidates can apply by visiting the official portal joincoastguard.cdac.in. The last date to apply for this is 19 January 2021. The application process for this started on 5 January which will run till 19 January.

Age Range:
The age of the applicant should be at least 18 years while the upper age limit should be 22 years. The reserved category candidates will get relaxation as per rules.

Educational Qualifications:
Candidates applying for the positions of seafarer must have passed Maths and Physics Subject with 50% marks in class 12th. The minimum marks for reserved category candidates has been relaxed by 5% (up to 45%).

Selection Process:
The applications to be selected on these posts will be shortlisted on the basis of marks obtained in class 12th. The shortlisted candidate will have to take the written test. Candidates who qualify the written examination will be included in the Physical Efficiency Test (PFT) and Medical Standard Test. Subsequently, the selected candidates will be shortlisted for training which will start in August 2020.

Application fee:
Candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs 250 for this. However, SC-ST category candidates will not have to pay any fee.

Pay scale:
The salary of the candidates selected for the post of sailor will be Rs 21,700. Other allowances will also be given to the selected candidates.
