Jalandhar: The Saryu Yamuna Express train going from Jalandhar to Amritsar in Punjab caught fire near Kartarpur railway station at around 11 pm. Three coaches of the vehicle - S1, S2, S3, were burnt to ashes. Thankfully, the passengers on the train were evacuated safely. According to the passengers, the train was going from Jaipur towards Amritsar and suddenly a fire broke out in the s1 coach of the train at Kartarpur railway station and the fire slowly spread to 3 coaches but in time all the passengers were safely removed from the car.
Giving information about the incident, police officer Pushp Bali has said that the train had left Nussi station in Jalandhar and the speed of the train was very low, suddenly smoke started coming out of the car. Giving information about the accident, he said that the fire was known on time and the vehicle was evacuated in time.
They have told that the local police and fire brigade were informed about the fire and soon after getting the information, the local police and fire brigade reached the spot and controlled the fire. He said that the cause of the fire would be known after the completion of the investigation by the railway authorities.
