NEW DELHI: Supreme Court on Monday announced that independent MLAs, R.K. Shankar and H. Nagesh's plea was rejected by the court seeking an early floor test in Karnataka. On behalf of the Independents, Mukul Rohatgi had requested the Chief Justice to hear the matter on Monday itself. Two independent MLAs, who withdrew their support from the Congress-JD(S) government, have moved the court seeking directions to conduct a power test in the state assembly at the earliest. He said, after withdrawing his support and the resignation of 16 coalition MLAs, there has been a political crisis in the state. Meanwhile, the BSP supremo declared a relief to the government that his sole MLA would vote in favour of the government. Mayawati had said in a tweet that the only BSP MLA in Karnataka, N.K. Mahesh has been instructed to vote in favour of the Kumaraswamy government.
