K'taka govt to provide religious education and sattvic food to school children

Bangalore: In Karnataka, efforts have begun to provide religious education and sattvic food to inculcate morality in the minds of school children. For this, it is being said to give information about religious texts in the classes of moral education in all the schools of the province. School Education Minister BC Nagesh has said that efforts will be made to start it from the next academic session.

In fact, a meeting was called in Bengaluru on Monday (January 9) to include moral education in the curriculum. School Education and Literacy Minister BC Nagesh as well as people from many religious and social organizations including Sri Sri Ravi Shankar were also present in this meeting. Regarding this meeting, BC Nagesh has said that a committee will be formed soon to change the syllabus. School Education and Literacy Minister BC Nagesh has said, 'Religious saints, educationists, and school management people have given practical suggestions for implementing value-based education. A committee of experts will be formed soon to make changes to the syllabus. Also, we will try to implement this curriculum from the next academic year.'

The minister further said ''All the people who attended the meeting say that there is an urgent need to implement moral education in schools. Opinions were taken both online and offline from almost all the people who attended the meeting. Based on the points expressed in this meeting, the methods of implementing value education will be discussed and finalized in the departmental level meetings.''
