The order issued by the Haryana Government regarding fees by the Association of Private Schools (NISA) of the Indian state of Haryana has been challenged in the Punjab Haryana High Court. On the petition, the High Court has issued a notice to the Haryana Government and others by issuing notice. While filing the petition, NISA President Kulbhushan Sharma told the High Court through Advocate Pankaj Mani that the schools have been closed for several days due to Coronavirus.

While issuing an administrative order from the Haryana government, it was said that schools will not increase the fees as per Form 6 and fees other than tuition fees will not be collected at the moment. The petitioner said that according to the rules of Haryana, according to Form 6, schools have the right to increase fees and collect it. The rules which have been framed cannot be amended only through an administrative order.

In his statement, the petitioner said that fees are the only means for maintaining the buildings near schools and for other types of expenses. Without the provision of funds for strengthening the infrastructure and making arrangements for online studies, fees cannot be recovered. It has been told in the petition that after the school opens, the school will have to spend a lot on basic facilities, safety of children, staff and sanitizing the school. On the other hand, due to Corona, after the month of March, the school has not received fees from the children. Due to which a lot of schools are in financial crisis. The government is working against the rules by imposing restrictions on schools in lieu of giving them any exemption or financial aid.
