Dehradun: Uttarakhand is receiving heavy rainfall. The rainfall is likely to increase further in the next few days. Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand Disaster Management Centre and the Meteorological Department have predicted heavy rainfall in Almora and adjoining areas on September 15. In view of this alert, the Collector of Almora has ordered all schools in the district to remain closed tomorrow.
In Almora, a holiday has been announced in all government, non-government and private schools as well as Anganwadi centres from class 1 to 12 on Thursday. The Chief Education Officer of the district has issued orders in this regard. In view of the warning of heavy rains, orders have been issued to close all schools on September 15 not only in Almora but also in other districts of the state such as Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Pithoragarh etc. In this, there is an order to keep the Anganwadi centre closed along with schools up to the 12th standard.
