Global sea level will rise by 2.7 to 4.3 inches by 2100 says a recent study published in Climate Dynamics. Due to change in the lifestyle the planet is getting warmer and results in Polar Ice Sheets to melt. The melting speed is much high than the originally estimated. The effects will be worse than the estimated. The internal climate variability also affects the ice cover.

The model simulation did not include the effects of internal climate variability which also is a factor of ice sheets melting resulted in under estimation of future sea level rise. The increase in sea level leads to natural calamities destructing the lives. Christ Forest, co-author of the paper published in paper dynamics said the results of storm surge will be devastating. He added if the climate variability is average we won’t see the extremes. When the climate variability is included the results gives more sunshine resulting ice to melt further temperature above the threshold. The atmospheric variations had immediate impact on the ice sheet.

The additional factors contributing the ice sheets to melt have to be considered as it contributes to melting in a fast phase. The melting ice may lead to ocean circulation, alter global temperature patterns and can drive extreme weather events around the globe. Some part of world may cool off and some warms up. Heat waves and other weather events might happen frequently driving more warm water to the Antarctica, causing ice sheets to melt more faster.
