Srinagar: On Sunday, a patient infected with Coronavirus died while undergoing treatment in a hospital in Jammu and Kashmir. This is the second death due to infection in the valley. So far, 33 cases of coronavirus epidemic have been registered in the union territory. The latest case of death is of a 50-year-old man resident of Tangmarg under Baramulla district of Kashmir, who was found to be coronavirus positive on Saturday.

He died during treatment in a hospital in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday morning. He was kept in the isolation ward of the hospital only after being found infected with the virus during investigation. Government spokesperson Rohit Kansal has confirmed this by tweeting that, "The unfortunate demise of a coronavirus patient in Srinagar today (Sunday) morning with sad news at the beginning of the day."

Earlier, a 65-year-old elderly person had died on Thursday in the first case of death due to corona infection in Kashmir. Keeping in mind the increasing fear among the public due to increasing cases of corona infection in the state, Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam said that the investigation of suspects in Jammu and Kashmir is going on fast.
