Key benchmark indices slippd sharply in trade ON Monday, as rising Covid cases from the US & Europe came back to hit global markets. The Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) ended the day lower by 540 points AT 40145-mark, while the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) dropped 162 points TO 11767-mark in trade. The big losers in the Nifty Hero Motor Corp, Bajaj Auto, Hiindalco, Mahindra & Mahindra, and JSW Steel.  On the other hand, HDFCa life, Nestle India, Kotak Bank, IndsInd bank and SBI Life.

Reliance Industries, which slipped 4 per cent in trade after Amazon on Sunday won an interim award against its partner Future Group selling retail business to Reliance Industries Ltd for Rs 24,713 crore.. IndusInd Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among the gainers after reports of a takeover of IndusInd Bank by Kotak Mahindra Bank.

IN the global market, Dow Jones Futures slip 1 percent, while Europe was down 2 percent in trade. The US witnessed a record 83,000 new infections on Friday and Saturday, while in Europe, France reported a record daily rise in new infections and Italy ordered bars to close early with Spain issuing a nationwide curfew to control a worsening outbreak.
