11 killed as separatists attack police station in Iran

There has been a major attack in Iran. Actually, separatists attacked a police station at night. The news of loss of life of 11 people in this attack has come to light. Quoting Iran's government media, it is being said that this attack took place in the south-eastern region of Iran. Let us tell you that in recent months, separatist groups have carried out many small and big attacks in Iran. 

Police station attacked late at night: Reports say suspected members of a separatist group opened fire on the police station during the night. Ali Reza Marhemati, deputy governor of Iran's Sistan and Baluchistan province, said senior police officers and soldiers were killed in the attack. Many others have also been injured. According to reports, the attack took place in Rasak city at around 2 am. This area is 1400 kilometers away from the capital Tehran in the southeast direction. 

Separatist group Jaish al-Adl suspected to be involved: Reports say several attackers died in police retaliation. The separatist group Jaish al-Adl is said to be behind the attack. In 2019 also, Jaish al-Adl had claimed responsibility for a suicide attack on a bus carrying members of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Force. 27 Iranian army soldiers were killed in this attack. In recent months, there have been several incidents of attacks on police stations in Sunni-dominated areas of Iran. The Sistan area where this attack took place is counted among the most backward areas of Iran.
