English Premier League (EPL) club Manchester United midfielder and Serbia star footballer Nemanja Matic has backed compatriot and world number-1 tennis player Novak Djokovic. He recently played in the Adria Tour and took the responsibility to help organize the tournament in Serbia and Croatia. The first leg of the tour was played in Belgrade while the second leg took place in Jadar, Croatia.

After nearly three players in the tournament were found to be Corona positive, its organizer Djokovic and the rest of the organizers have now come under the attack of critics. Serbia's international footballer Metik said Djokovic should never apologize for hosting the tournament. He slammed those who criticized Djokovic, saying that 'rats' around the world have now 'come out of their bills' to criticize him. According to the reports published in Serbian media, Metic has also written an open letter in support of compatriot Djokovic. He said in his letter, "The rats have come out of the bill and they have given themselves the right to criticize the world number-1."

He said, "I don't care for it. Very soon the cat (Djokovic) will be on the court and the mice in his bill." Metique said, "The only thing for which I am angry with Novak and that is that he (Djokovic) has apologized to the mice criticizing him for no reason. Soon they (the critics) will apologize to you." The test of Viktor Troisky, Grigor Dimitrov and Borna Koric, who played in this tour before Djokovic, also came positive. Djokovic has now apologized for organizing this tournament. He had said, "I apologize for this loss due to the tournament. We did what we did in the last one month with all our heart and our intention was good."
