Serena and Venus Williams of the United States are not included in the list of entries in the Wimbledon singles category. It is possible that either of the two is requesting entry through a wild card into this Grand Slam starting June 27. Serena has won seven of the record 23 singles titles in the Open era at the All England Club and the last time she became a champion was in 2016.  

She can't play further due to a right foot injury after finishing runners-up in 2018 and 2019. Venus has won the Wimbledon title 5 times and has won a total of 7 Grand Slams to his name. She will be 42 years old in two weeks. US Open 2021 runner-up Laila Fernandez of Canada has also been ruled out due to injury.

Reports say that star player Serena Williams, who is known as the mom of tennis, is all set to return to the court from Wimbledon in June this year. The 40-year-old American woman has also put an end to rumours that she has announced her retirement from tennis. After the news of her separation with her long-time coat Patrick Moratoglou, it was confirmed that she was not going to make a comeback.

At an event, she assured her fans that she is ready to return to the big tournament. When asked if she was thinking about the US Open, she said it was going to be from Wimbledon before the US. So, it is expected that she is going to make a comeback from Wimbledon. Serena, a 23-time Grand Slam winner, missed the Australian Open this year due to a hamstring injury. He has not played a single match since June last year.
