The SET, set up to investigate the liquor scam in Haryana between the lockdown has demanded the government extend the deadline by two months. The file has reached Chief Minister Manohar Lal. According to sources, the deadline is set to be extended.

Meanwhile, the retirement orders of ADGP Subhash Yadav, who was included in the SET, have been issued by the government. He is retiring on 31 May. Earlier it was speculated that Subhash Yadav could be given extension after the SET deadline extended, but this did not happen. Now Rohtak Range ADGP Sandeep Khirwar is being considered for inclusion in the SET. It is believed that Khirwar is already looking into the matter. All the FIRs related to the liquor scam have been registered under his supervision. Khirwar is counted among the sharp police officers of Haryana. Overall, the SET deadline will be prolonged.

According to sources, the work has been given to SET. It is also difficult to complete within the stipulated time frame. If all aspects are examined at that level, then it may take three to six months. The collusion of excise and police departments also requires a longer time to be investigated. It was not possible for SET to complete the investigate before 31 May.
