National Institute of Sports  in Patiala found seven more corona positive players. Let us share that earlier there was some coach and players was reported positive to Corona infection. Here with new seven players report to covid -19 positive now the number of positive cases in boxing has gone up to 17.

For your information let us share in brief that earlier, 10 boxers, including men’s chief coach CA Kuttappa, contacted the virus and were isolated. A national-level boxing coach told to Media source that  “The 10 boxers are recovering but overall, it might impact India’s preparation for next month’s Asian Boxing Championships to be held at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Indoor Sports Complex (IG Stadium),”.

With increasing number amid players to come positive, Boxing Federation of India (BFI) has postponed the national selection trials for next month’s Asian meet in New Delhi.  The BFI had conducted selection trials in the women’s category in the first week of this month at IG Stadium. Four boxers, including six-time world champion MC Marykom, who have qualified for Tokyo Olympics were exempted from selection trials. The women’s camp is in progress at Patiala.
