Moscow: On Sunday, it was revealed that Saudi Arabia had evacuated several dozen Russian nationals from Sudan.

Ruslan Usmanov, the press attaché at the Russian Consulate General in Jeddah, confirmed the evacuation in an interview with the official news agency TASS.

The diplomat said, "Russians are not fleeing on their own; Saudi Arabian warships are taking them out. He continued, "They took over the situation, they are brought out of the port of Sudan to the naval base, and we meet them there.

Currently, about 40 Russians have arrived; the majority of them have already left, some for Russia and some for other nations, depending on who is travelling where.

According to Usmanov, Russian nationals use transit nations like Qatar, the UAE, and Egypt to get to their home country.

The press attaché claims that Saudi Arabia is evacuating Russians, Americans, and residents of EU nations.

He continued by saying that the government of the nation gives information on the lists of evacuees to the Russian Federation Consulate General.

Usmanov stated that "the Saudi side, in principle, still pays them for two nights of lodging and meals." "Following that, Russian Federation citizens depart for Russia. If necessary, we accompany them to the airport and help them with any problems, but generally speaking, everything goes without a hitch. There aren't any issues yet.

Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, recently confirmed in an interview with Arab News that Moscow and Riyadh are in communication regarding the expulsion of Russian nationals and diplomats from Sudan.
