Mumbai: Shabana Azmi, wife of Bollywood veteran and lyricist-poet Javed Akhtar, was injured in a car accident on Saturday. According to the information given by the police, the incident happened near Kolhapur on the Mumbai-Pune Express. Giving information, Raigad Superintendent of Police Anil Paraskar said that the incident occurred around 3.30 pm on Saturday near Kolhapur, 60 km from Mumbai.

Police told that the car in which Shabana was riding collided with a truck. She has been admitted to MGM Hospital in Navi Mumbai for treatment, where she is undergoing treatment. Shabana was also present in the car along with her husband Javed Akhtar. However, Javed has not suffered any injury in this accident. They have told that the front part of the car collided with the truck has been damaged.
