Islamabad: Former captain of the Pakistan team, Shahid Afridi, who is often in controversy over his absurd statements, has said a big thing in the meantime. Shahid Afridi said on Thursday that a cricket match between India and Pakistan could see an improvement in relations between the two countries. Afridi's statement comes at a time when speculation between India and Pakistan to have a bilateral T20 series this year. No bilateral series have been played between the two countries since 2012/13.

Afridi told Cricket Pakistan, "Cricket is very important between India and Pakistan. Sports should be kept away from politics. Relations between the two countries can improve cricket".He has told this before that Indian cricket enjoys visiting Pakistan. You can improve the relationship through sports, but if you do not want to improve it, it will remain like this.

Pakistan's Jang newspaper on Wednesday quoted a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official as saying that the cricket board had been asked to prepare for the series with India. However, no one from India has made any comment regarding this series.
