Kerala's Gopika Kottanathrayil has become the first Indian woman to get a Ph.D. scholarship after La Trobe University named after Bollywood's famous actor Shahrukh Khan. Along with this, Gopika is working towards developing new practices in animal science and farming. Along with this, she was selected from over 800 Indian women with achievements in various fields. Shahrukh himself presented this scholarship at an event held in Mumbai on Wednesday evening.

It is being told that in August last year, the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and La Trobe University had announced the 'Shahrukh Khan La Trobe University Ph.D. Scholarship' (Scholarship). On the occasion, Shah Rukh said, 'I admire the dedication and determination of Gopika. This scholarship will enable her to travel to Melbourne, where she will move towards achieving her dream of helping improve India's agricultural sector.
