Shakti Kapoor playing role of transgender in his next

The actor Shakti Kapoor in his upcoming movie 'Raktdhar' is portraying the role of a transgender and he believes that the world for them becomes a better and equal place. The story of the film is about the love, politics, revenge and the need of the time to change the society thinking towards transgenders.

“I believe even small things can make change possible. Raktdhar isn’t a big budget film, but I am sure people will understand and accept the message that we are trying to give. I hope people will change their perspective and look at them (transgenders) equally.” said the actor.

The movie directed by Ajit Verma has cast Mukesh Rishi, Shahbaaz Khan, Ehsaan Khan, Deepshikha Nagpal, Manish Khanna, Jimmy Sharma and Sanchita Banerjee. Dhananjay Dhawan Patil and Rajan Gupta have jointly produced the film under the banner Chitra Films which is slated to be released on October 6.

“Through this film, we are trying to break the centuries-old tradition that does not allow post-death rituals for transgenders. Transgenders, irrespective of their religion, are buried and not cremated.” Director Ajit Verma said.
