The Nagpur-Goa Shaktipeeth Expressway, an 802-kilometer-long six-lane corridor, is all set to transform travel between Nagpur and Goa. 

Developed by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), this project will cut down travel time from the current 18-20 hours to just 8-10 hours, revolutionizing connectivity across the state. The expressway will pass through 12 districts, linking key pilgrimage centers while driving tourism, economic growth, and infrastructure development.

Route and Districts Covered

The expressway begins at Pavnar in Wardha district and ends at Patradevi on the Maharashtra-Goa border, passing through 12 districts, including Yavatmal, Hingoli, Nanded, Parbhani, and Sindhudurg. By offering a faster, more convenient route, the expressway is expected to enhance regional tourism and economic activities.

Connecting Pilgrimage Sites and Growth

A standout feature of this expressway is its ability to connect significant spiritual destinations. Stretching from Wardha to Sindhudurg, it will provide easier access to famous pilgrimage spots, such as Tuljapur near Solapur, Mahalaxmi in Kolhapur, and Patra Devi, promoting spiritual tourism while fostering economic development. Villages Along the Route

The expressway will pass through several villages, including Sangavade, Sangavadewadi, Halasavade, Nerli, Vikaswadi, Kaneriwadi, Kaneri, Kogil Budruk, and Khebwade. Cost and Scale of the Project

The total cost of the Shaktipeeth Expressway is estimated to be Rs.86,000 crore. Once completed, this highway will become one of India’s longest, surpassing the 701-kilometer Nagpur-Mumbai Expressway.
