Shalini Pandey, the actress who rose to fame with the South superhit film "Arjun Reddy", has come a long way in her career. Despite her success, Shalini's journey in the industry was not easy. In a recent media event, she revealed that her parents wanted her to become an engineer, but she had other plans.

Shalini shared that she tried to convince her parents for four years to let her pursue a career in acting, but they were not willing. Finally, she decided to leave home and chase her dreams. Recalling those difficult times, Shalini said, "My parents wanted me to be an engineer, but I couldn't do it. They were not ready to support my acting career either. I tried to convince them for four years, but eventually, I had to leave home. It was a tough decision, but I had to follow my heart."

Upon arriving in Mumbai, Shalini faced another challenge - finding a place to stay. With no friends or family in the city, she had to share a room with boys. However, she considers them her family now, and they have remained close friends even after she moved to Hyderabad.

Shalini has been active in South films, with notable roles in "Mahanti", "NTR: Kathanayakudu", "118", "Gorilla", "Iddari Lokam Okate", "Bamfaad", "Nishabdam", and "Silence". She has also made her mark in Hindi films like "Meri Nimmo", "Jayeshbhai Jordaar", and "Maharaj". Despite the struggles she faced, Shalini's determination and passion for acting have paid off, making her a recognizable name in the industry.
