The full moon of Ashwin month has a special significance. This full moon is known as Sharad Purnima in India. Important events are held in temples on this day. This full moon night is also very important. It is said that on this night the God come to see the earth. There is a religious belief about this that on this night there is a rain of nectar from the sky.

What is the importance of Sharad Purnima?

There is also a law to observe fast on Sharad Purnima. You should get up early in the morning and have an early morning bath on this day. Women worship God on this day for a bright future for their children. On the night of Sharad Purnima, Moon gets very close to the earth. It is also believed that on the full moon night when the lunar rays fall on the human body, it is an auspicious sign.

Importance of Kheer on Sharad Purnima:

Kheer is also very popular on Sharad Purnima. On this day you should offer kheer made from cow's milk to God. Keep in mind that you have to add sugar in kheer and offer it to God at night.

Sharad Purnima Pooja Vidhi:

Worship Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati and Kartikeya on Sharad Purnima. You have to worship God at the time when the moon gets in the middle of the sky. After worshipping and after offering Kheer to God, you have to keep a pot full of Kheer under the sky. 

Things Required During the Rituals:

You should have an idol or picture of Shiva, Parvati and Kartikeya, Kalash, water, wheat, leaf, rice etc. in the worship material. After worshipping these things, worship God and offer Dakshina.
