New Delhi: The Indian stock market (Share Market Today) is trading at a historic high today. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) gained 281 points to open at 56,073.31 on Wednesday. Around 9.26 am, the Sensex was trading 294 points stronger at 56,086.50, a record for the Sensex so far.
The Nifty gained 77 points NSE, or 0.5 per 1,000, to 16,691.95. The Nifty was trading 79 points higher at 16,693 around 9.28 am. All sectors except metal and PSU bank are seen in the green on nifty. shares of HDFC Bank rose 3 percent today. The Reserve Bank has allowed HDFC bank to issue new credit cards again. This has led to a surge in shares of HDFC Bank today.
The Indian stock market opened lower on Tuesday, but it continued to fluctuate. BSE Sensex lost 17 points to open at 55,565.64 in the morning. The Sensex reached the green after 9.24 am. After 3 p.m., the Sensex suddenly started moving fast towards the peak. The Sensex rose to a high of 55,854.88, a historic level it has ever held. At the end of trading, the Sensex gained 209.69 points to close at 55,792.27.
