Stock market openswith  green mark on weekday, Sensex rises by 508 points

MUMBAI: The stock market opened on Monday on the first trading day of the week, with a spectacular increase. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex opened with a gain of 508.09 points, or 1.29 per cent, at 39975.45. At the same time, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) main sensitive index Nifty opened at 11777.55 with a gain of 1.12 percent i.e. 129.95 points.

The domestic stock market remained strong during the last two weeks, but the market move in the coming business week will be determined by the main economic data. The market will get directions from other key economic data, including the GDP figures for the first quarter of the current fiscal year, especially early in the week. Auto companies will make public their sales figures in August, which will be looked at by investors. Estimates for the first quarter of the current financial year can be released by the National Statistics Office (NSO) on Monday itself.

Foreign investors have remained net buyers in the Indian capital markets so far in August due to excess cash in international markets and low interest rates, and have invested Rs 47,334 crore on a gross basis. As per the data, Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) made a net investment of Rs 46,602 crore in the equity segment so far in August, while an investment of Rs 732 crore has been recorded in the debt segment.
