Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt won the Best Actor and Best Actress awards at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival. Alia Bhatt won for her titular performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi, and Ranbir won for playing the lead in Brahmastra Part One: Shiva.  Ranbir Kapoor is recently promoting his film Tu Jhooti Main Makar. During the promotional event, he opens up about different things.

He was asked about winning the award. The actor said,  “Sabse pehle toh of course I'm very grateful ki mujhe ye sammaan diya. I don't think I fully deserve it for Brahmastra. Bohot badi kuchh acting performance nahi thi. Jabhi bhi kuchh award aata hai so, of course, you feel great,”. He further opens up about Alia winning the award and said, “ I'm very excited that Alia won the award because she was truly deserving in her performance in Gangubai. I think that's one of her finest performances ever. But jab award milta hai, peeth pe ek thappi milti hai ki chalo aapne theek thaak kaam kiya,”.

 He also opens up about his daughter Raha and said, “I thought I lived half of my life already. There will be love, I got married, I love my wife, and all of that. But I think, the moment my child Raha was born - it opens a different emotion, a different chakra in your body. I've never felt like this ever in my life. It is pure joy. I just want to be at home, I just want to be with her. I don't want to work or do anything at all. But, I can't do that of course. This feeling is just... I can't explain it,"

Earlier Kangana took a dig of Ranbir and Alia winning the award and wrote, "Awards season is here before nepo mafia snatches everyone ka haq (right) let me clarify this year's Best actor - Rishab Shetty (Kantara) Best Actress- Mrunal Thakur (Sita Ramam) Best film - Kantara Best director- SS Rajamouli (RRR) Best supporting actor - Anupam Kher (Kashmir Files) Best supporting actress- Tabu (Bhool Bhulaiya) Yeh log jayein ya nahi awards inhi ke hain (the awards belong to them no matter they attend them or not)... filmi awards have no authenticity, after I finish work here, I will make a proper list of all those I feel are deserving... stay tuned ... thanks."
