Renowned poet and film screenwriter Javed Akhtar sitting in Pakistan accused Pakistan itself of allowing the perpetrators of the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai to roam freely, the video of which has gone viral on social media. Recently, Javed Akhtar went to Pakistan to attend the Faiz Festival, which was organized by the Alhamra Arts Council in Lahore on Sunday itself.

In the video that has gone viral, the popular lyricist can be seen discussing how to reduce the tension between the two countries and he is telling the attendees that "there is resentment in the hearts of Indians..." Javed Akhtar said. , "We should not blame each other... It will not lead to anything... Fizz hot (the atmosphere is tense), it should be rectified... We are Mumbaikars and we have seen our city being attacked. Yes... The attackers did not come from Norway or Egypt. And the same people are still roaming in your country. So, if this complaint is in the heart of an Indian, you should not feel bad..."

He also said that Indian artistes were not given the same respect in Pakistan as Pakistani veterans have been given in India. Amid applause, Javed Akhtar says, "When Faiz Sahab came, he was welcomed like a big celebrity. It was also broadcast everywhere. We did big functions of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Mehdi Hassan. But you (Pakistan) never did any function of Lata Mangeshkar... These comments of Javed Akhtar are being widely shared and people are also praising him.''
