Let us tell all of you that the festival of Sheetla Ashtami is being celebrated on 15 April this time. Let us tell you that Mata Sheetla is worshiped on this day. On this day, Mata Sheetla is offered stale food. It is said that fasting of Sheetla Mata helps to get rid of diseases caused by heat. So let's know the story of Mother Sheetla today.

Story- One day the old woman and her two daughters-in-law kept the fast of Sheetla Mata. According to the belief, stale rice is offered and eaten during this fast. But both daughters-in-law cooked fresh food in the morning. Because both of them had children recently, due to this both of them were afraid that stale food should not harm them. When the mother-in-law came to know about the fresh food, she became very angry. A few moments had passed, it turned out that the children of both daughters-in-law died suddenly. Mother-in-law threw both the daughters-in-law out of the house. Both the daughters-in-law left the house with dead bodies. In between, she stopped for rest. There they found two sisters, Ori and Sheetla. Both were upset with lice in their head.

Those sisters-in-law got pity on seeing both sisters and they started cleaning their heads. After some time both the sisters got rest, as soon as they got rest, both of them gave thanks and said that your lap should be green. Hearing this, both started crying badly and they showed the bodies of their children to the woman. Seeing all this, Sheetla told both that they had received the fruits of their actions. Hearing this, she understood that this happened because of the fresh cooking on the day of Sheetla Ashtami. Both of these lives apologized to Mata Sheetla and asked not to do so further. After this, the mother revived both the children. From this day onwards, Sheetla Mata's fast began to be celebrated with pomp in the entire village.
