LONDON: India's opener Shikhar Dhawan, who was out of the Ongoing World Cup in England and Wales due to a thumb injury, posted a video on social media on Wednesday in which he said he is confident that India will win the World Cup. The BCCI had informed on Wednesday that Dhawan will not be able to play the rest of the World Cup due to injury.
"I feel emotional to announce that I will no longer be a part of #CWC19. Unfortunately, the thumb won't recover on time. But the show must go on.. I'm grateful for all the love & support from my team mates, cricket lovers & our entire nation. Jai Hind!," Dhawan wrote on his Twitter handle.

At the same time, Dhawan added, "The team players are playing brilliantly, we will continue to do well and win the World Cup. Young Rishabh Pant has been included in the team as an alternative to Dhawan. The ICC has also approved Pant's name. Earlier in the day, the BCCI had informed Dhawan that Dhawan was not available in the rest of the World Cup matches. He has a thumb injury and is not in a position to recover until the tournament.
