Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Member of Parliament, Priyanka Chaturvedi, took a satirical jab at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, suggesting that he will be replaced in the upcoming 2024 elections. She asserted that the next prime minister of India would emerge from the opposition coalition, known as the INDIA bloc.
Chaturvedi remarked, "PM Modi's recent speech at the Red Fort marked his final address, as next year the prime ministerial position would be claimed by someone from the INDIA bloc. The consequences of the BJP's actions in breaking Maharashtra's government will reflect in the electoral outcome." She confidently stated that the INDIA bloc would command a sweeping victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
On Priyanka Gandhi Contesting from Varanasi
In a separate statement, the Shiv Sena MP expressed her alliance's willingness to back Priyanka Gandhi if she chose to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Varanasi. Chaturvedi conveyed her confidence in Gandhi's ability to secure a win in the polls.
"The alliance stands ready to support Priyanka Gandhi's candidacy, provided she decides to contest and gains consensus from the Opposition," Chaturvedi assured. She referred to the Prime Minister's victory in the Varanasi seat during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The political landscape appears to be gearing up for significant shifts as the anticipation for the 2024 elections intensifies.
