SHIV SENA LEADER SUDHIR SURI SHOT DEAD

AMRITSAR:  Punjab, Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri shot dead in Punjab's Amritsar. The incident happened in front of a city temple. Shiv Sena leaders were demonstrating outside the shrine when Suri was shot by a member of the crowd.
His death was confirmed by Amritsar Police Commissioner Arun Pal Singh.

After some broken statues were found amid rubbish outside the temple grounds, Shiv Sena leaders staged a sit-in protest against the temple officials.

Suri was fired at during the protest by some unknown persons. Some of his followers cared for him, but others could be seen hurling gunfire into the air.

The place where the bullet was fired is said to be a residential location. The police have arrested the attacker. The Shiv Sena leader was attacked while he was talking to a police official, source said.

As per  reports, Suri was already protected by a sizable security posse since he was on a hit list. The alleged assailant was grabbed by the crowd, and police eventually arrested him. Sandeep Singh has been named as the alleged attacker.

Tajinder Singh Bagga, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), slammed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in response to the incident and said that law and order had broken down in Punjab. Law and order in Punjab has disintegrated, and Sudhir Suri, a leader of the Shiv sena, was hurt in an Amritsar shooting, the user posted.

After being detained in July of this year on suspicion of using derogatory words about a certain community and arousing religious feelings, Suri made headlines.

He had shared a video on social media where he, and some of his associates, can be heard saying objectionable words against the community.
