Bhopal: Former CM and veteran BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chauhan has compared Scindia to Vibhishan at the reception of Jyotiraditya Scindia, who left the Congress and came to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Former CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that Vibhishan is needed to burn Ravana's Lanka. Congress has taken a dig at Shivraj's statement.

Shivraj said in a ceremony held at the BJP's state office that "Vibhishan is needed to completely burn Ravana's Lanka. My brother and now Scindia Ji is with us. We will fight together and make it even stronger." Narendra Saluja, president of the state Congress unit and media coordinator of Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath, took a tweet on Scindia in a tweet regarding Shivraj's statement. He wrote that "Nothing can be more insulting than this. Before entering the BJP, Shivraj used to be a traitor and Vibhishan after the entry."

Jyotiraditya Scindia, who came to Bhopal on Thursday for the first time after leaving the Congress to join the BJP, announced in a gesture that he was going to go to the Kamal Nath government. Gadgad Scindia cited his family ties with the BJP's policy as a strong reception at the BJP's state office. Pointing out that the Kamal Nath government was in crisis, he said, "It is difficult to criticize within a party. But I am the blood of the Scindia family. What is right, I call it right."
