Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has announced today that 'Gau Cabinet' will be established for the conservation and promotion of cattle in the state of Madhya Pradesh. According to him, its first meeting is going to be held later this week. The Department of Animal Husbandry, Forest, Panchayat and Rural Development, Revenue, Home and Farmers Welfare are going to be included in the Gau Cabinet. Shivraj Singh Chauhan himself has told, 'The first meeting of the Gau Cabinet will be held on November 22 at 12 noon on Gopashtami at Gauabharyan, Agramalwa.'

पशुपालन, वन, पंचायत व ग्रामीण विकास, राजस्व, गृह और किसान कल्याण विभाग गौ कैबिनेट में शामिल होंगे।
पहली बैठक 22 नवंबर को गोपाष्टमी पर दोपहर 12 बजे गौ अभ्यारण, आगर मालवा में आयोजित की जाएगी।
CM Shivraj has also tweeted for this and he has given information through the tweet itself. On giving information, he wrote, 'Earlier this year, Madhya Pradesh allocated Rs 11 crore or Rs 1.6 per day to feed more than 180,000 cows in government shelters in the state. It reduced the allocation of the Department of Animal Husbandry from Rs 132 crore to Rs 11 crore in the last financial year, a 90% reduction, the budget records show, in the budget for FY 2020-21.
India's first cow sanctuary was established in September 2017 by the Madhya Pradesh government of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). It was developed by MP Gau Promotion, Kamdhenu Gau Sanctuary at Agar Malwa, 190 km northwest of Bhopal. About 32 crore rupees were spent for this. The sanctuary is spread over 472 hectares. Earlier this year, Madhya Pradesh distributed Rs 11 crore or Rs 1.6 per day to feed more than 180,000 cows in government shelters in the state.
