JAIPUR: Over the past five years, the Ashok Gehlot-led government has wreaked havoc on Rajasthan," expressed Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He took a jab at Rajasthan's Chief Minister, alleging the administration's downfall under Gehlot's leadership.
CM Chouhan conveyed this statement during an interaction with ANI in Jaipur, Rajasthan's capital, on Wednesday. He had arrived to support the campaign efforts for the impending assembly elections in the state, scheduled to take place this week.
"Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guidance, the people of Rajasthan are keen on establishing a dual-power governance in the state. In the last five years, the Ashok Gehlot government has brought ruin upon Rajasthan. The state ranks at the top in corruption, instances of women's mistreatment, cybercrime, paper leak occurrences, riots, and terror cases. It has unfortunately become synonymous with mismanagement. Consequently, people are inclined to remove them and usher in a BJP government," stated CM Chouhan.
When questioned about CM Ashok Gehlot's assertions of re-electing his government due to promised assurances, the Madhya Pradesh CM retorted that none of Gehlot's guarantees had materialized.
"Not a single promise made by him (CM Gehlot) has been fulfilled. Farmers' loans remain untouched, and the unemployed haven't received any allowances. One can be deceived only once, not repeatedly," Chouhan asserted.
Responding to Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge's recent statement, Chouhan criticized Kharge's reasoning, remarking that his intellect seemed impaired.
"His (Kharge) cognitive faculties seem to be impaired. These (Congress) individuals are apprehensive because PM Modi vowed not to engage in corruption or allow others to do so. Now, the Congress, riddled with corruption, is anxious... PM Modi will not spare anyone involved in corruption or deceit. This fear compels them to make such bizarre remarks," Chouhan added.
During a press conference in Jaipur on Tuesday, Kharge had targeted Prime Minister Modi, accusing him of consistently resorting to verbal attacks against Congress leaders.
Rajasthan is bracing for assembly polls on November 25, with the vote counting set for December 3. Out of the 200 seats, 199 will be contested on November 25 due to the unfortunate demise of the Congress candidate for the Karanpur assembly constituency, Gurmeet Singh Koonar, resulting in the Election Commission adjourning elections in that area.
