SAHARANPUR : In a shocking incident,  A forty-year-old school teacher and his student were found hanging from a noose in a forest in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur, the police said on Wednesday, September 21.

The victims, who had not been seen or heard from since September 3, were allegedly in a relationship.

"Virendra, the teacher, and the 17-year-old girl, a student of class nine, were found hanging in the forest late on Tuesday night," said Senior Superintendent of Police Vipin Tada. An inhabitant of Rasulpur village, the teacher was having an affair with a student at the same institution where he worked.

The police began looking for them when the girl's family filed an abduction report, but were unable to track them down because of their shifting locations, he claimed.

According to the Senior Superintendent of Police, a police team went to the forest late on Tuesday night after receiving reports of a foul stench coming from the area and discovered the remains there in very poor condition.

He said, "It seems the two had committed suicide around ten days ago. 

In the vicinity, a bike was also found, but no suicide note was found. Both the bodies have been sent for post-mortem, police said.
