The issue of nepotism among the celebs is very hot in Bollywood. Well-known villain Ranjit of the 70s and 80s has also given his opinion on the current debate in Hindi cinema on Nepotism. In his statement, he has told that Nepotism has always been an integral part of this industry. During an interview, he has told that he was offered a character in Hindi cinema's most famous film 'Sholay'. But, for some reasons, that character was given to another artist.

After the suicide of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, there is a lot of debate on social media. Many actors of TV and Hindi films have expressed their opinion on this. Ranjit also said that there were things like partiality in his time too. He further said, "Nepotism is always a part of this film industry, that's why there has been a lot of competition from the very beginning."

Ranjith said, "I remember that Parveen Babi was offered a role in the film' Silsila '. But, the makers felt that Jaya Bachchan would look better in this role. Therefore, they gave that role to Jaya Bachchan. I also remember that Danny was selected for a role in the film 'Sholay'. But, he was very busy at that time. So he did not do that role. Then I got that character. But, I refused to play that role, because Danny was a very good friend of mine. Then that role went to someone else. And this happens every time."
