Shooting of Bangabandhu's biopic will begin in January 2021

The shooting of biopic on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was earlier postponed due to Covid-19 pandemic, is now going to start from January 2021. This film will be directed by famous Indian filmmaker Shyam Benegal. The shooting was earlier to begin in March this year but later postponed due to corona. The first shooting phase has been rescheduled and now it will begin in January 2021 in Mumbai.

Actors who are selected to play significant characters have already received a confirmation text from the film director and the preparation to join the first phase of shooting starts in Mumbai. According to the list of selected artists for the biopic, it will feature actor Arifin Shuvoo in the title role of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Nusrat Imrose Tisha and Dighi will play the elder and younger versions of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's wife Fazilatunnesa Mujib (Renu) respectively, while Nusrat Faria will play the role of a younger Sheikh Hasina and Jannatul Sumaiya as elder Sheikh Hasina. 

Noted actress Dilara Jaman will play the role of Bangbandhu's mother Sahera Khatun, actor Khairul Alam Sabuj will play Bangabandhu's father Sheikh Lutfor Rahman, Shahidul Alam Sachchu as Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq, Ferdous Ahmed as Tajuddin Ahmed, Tauquir Ahmed as Hussain Shaheed Suhrawardy, Tushar Khan as Tofazzal Hossain Manik Miah, Fazlur Rahman Babu as Khandakar Moshtaq Ahmed and Misha Sawdagor as Aiyub Khan. Dilara will join the shooting on January 26, while Khairul will attend the shooting on January 30.
