New Delhi: The Central government has started tracing the fake firms who obtained the fake registration of GST. The Finance Ministry has cancelled 1,63,042 registrations in October and November. These GST accounts did not return GSTR-3B in the last 6 months.

For the past one month, the Directorate General of GST Intelligence and SGST has been waging a campaign against those who misuse GST. Under this, 132 people have been arrested. Out of these, 4 are chartered accountants. These agencies have processed 4586 LI GSTIN and registered 1430 cases. Media reports say that a chartered accountant named Akshay Jain has been arrested from Visakhapatnam. The CA is alleged to have issued a certificate worth Rs 20.97 crore by building 14 fake firms. The investigation into the matter is continuing.

According to official sources, GSTIN, which had not filed GSTR-3B returns for six months, was first given notice and then their registration was cancelled.  In addition, 55 registrations have been found to have errors in those who were issued 720 approved registrations from 21 August 2020 to 16 November 2020 and were not Aadhaar verification. Registration is also being cancelled in these cases.
