New Delhi: Team India middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer had to be out as he finished the one-day series against England. Iyer, who was injured during the first match, will no longer be a part of the team in the remaining matches of the series. While giving information on his injury, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said that he has been ruled out of the ODI series due to a shoulder injury. On Thursday, Iyer released a sentimental message on social media and thanked the fans.
In the first match of the series played on 23 March between India and England in Pune, Iyer suffered a shoulder injury while fielding. In an attempt to stop the ball, he got injuries on his shoulder. This injury was so serious that he would have to sit out of the ODI series as well as some matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Iyer thanked his fans in a message sent to his fans on social media after his exit from the series.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wished the young batsman to return to the team soon after recovery from his injury. This message was given by BCCI while responding to the tweet by Iyer.
